Q: What is your name and classification?
A: Well, my name is Johnny Hill, and I am a freshman.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I’m from Colorado Springs, Colo.
Q: What is your major?
A: My major is graphic design.
Q: Why did you choose graphic design?
A: Well, I like art, and I really like graphic design, especially. I just think it’s a really cool field, and it’s never going to get old. It’s something I could do for my whole life.
Q: Did you have any special inspiration to want to become a graphic designer?
A: It’s just one of those things that I’ll never have a boring desk job, and I’ll always have something new to create and a new project to work on, so it’s never going to be the same thing over and over again. That’s why I want to do art.
Q: How long have you known that this is what you want to do?
A: I’ve known for about a year now. I basically decided toward the beginning of my senior year that graphic design is what I wanted to do.
Q: Where do you want to go with this in the future?
A: I would like to work for Google or some other company like that and do some sort of web-based graphic design. But we’ll see where that goes.
Q: Do you have any artsy idols?
A: I like Dr. Seuss. He’s a good artist.
Q: Do you have a favorite Dr. Seuss book?
A: No. Well, I did when I was five. I like that one, “Wocket in My Pocket.” Is that what it’s called? That’s a good one. Look it up.
Q: Who is your favorite musical artist or band?
A: Dance, Gavin, Dance. They’re my favorite band.
Q: Do you have a favorite song by them?
A: Yes, “People You Know.”
Q: What do you do for fun in your spare time?
A: I long board, and I do web design. I don’t really like to make art, which is ironic. Sometimes, just not for class. That’s about it.
Q: Are you going to participate in Mustache March?
A: Like No-Shave November? Probably not. Maybe, though. Maybe.
Q: What is the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?
A: I don’t know, probably one of those exorcism movies. Those are always scary.
Q: Did you buy any Girl Scout cookies?
A: No, I missed them when they came around, apparently. So I just steal all of my girlfriend’s.
Q: What is your favorite kind?
A: Thin Mint.
Q: What is the worst thing you’ve ever eaten?
A: Well, over winter break I went to this burger place called Crave Burger. I got this jalapeno popper burger, and it was really good except the next day I had an awful stomach bug, and I was throwing up for like two days. So that was awful. I’m never going back there.
Q: How do you feel about the show “Adventure Time”?
A: It’s basically the best show ever.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: Adventure, hardcore and real.
Q: What is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to you?
A: In November I got to go to Miami, and we got approached by some hobos who were obviously on some sort of drug. They were really creepy, and they were asking us for money. That was probably one of the scariest things of my life.
Q: Does anyone ever tell you that you look like any famous person?
A: No, unfortunately not.
Q: What is your favorite day of the week?
A: I like Thursdays just because they are really easy and laid back, and I usually don’t have any homework, so I just kind of chill.
Q: Do you prefer jelly or jam?
A: I prefer jam, but I usually buy jelly.
Q: Why is that?
A: I think it’s cheaper. And I’m a college student.
