Q: What is your major?
A: I am a communications major with an emphasis in theatre.
Q: What is your classification?
A: I’m a junior.
Q: Why did you choose theatre?
A: Well, from an early age, I was always very theatrical and always performing. So I decided that it was my true passion in life, and I wanted to pursue a career in it.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about the new director, Tommie Williams?
A: She is for the students, no matter what kind of questions we come to her with. She is there for us, and she helps us and instructs us and guides us, and she’s just a wonderful, positive influence in this theater. She’s a really big go-getter.
Q: Do you have a favorite playwright?
A: Tennessee Williams, which is probably very cliche because he’s wonderful and magical and everything that is theatre.
Q: If you could do something different with the theatre program, what would it be?
A: I would bring in more faculty and divvy up the jobs and provide more classes for the students and build another stage and recruit students and go all over the country. I’m getting out of hand here, but I don’t care because I have big dreams for this theater.
Q: Do you have a least favorite show that you’ve done?
A: I will probably be reprimanded for saying this, but I hate “Greater Tuna.” I was in it my sophomore year of high school, and I cannot stand it. It’s a very hickish, country-western play and I just … I hate it, I just hate it.
Q: What’s your favorite room in your house?
A: Definitely the kitchen; I love looking out the window. My kitchen is very bright and sunny, and I love sitting at my kitchen table just mulling over life with a cup of coffee.
Q: How do you deal with rude people?
A: Well, if you had asked me this a year ago, I would have said I am too passive to do anything, but a newfound assertiveness has come over me, and I call them out on their b.s., and I’m going to say that word. I call them out, and I tell them to stop.
Q: If you had a different name, what would you like it to be?
A: You know, I actually really appreciate the name that I have, but if I could pick something, it would be really outlandish like something that doesn’t even make sense. Like what celebrities name their babies like Meadowlark or Pluto, something crazy.
Q: If cows didn’t produce milk, what would you prefer them to make?
A: Twinkies. Absolutely Twinkies – shoot them out all over the place from their utters.
Q: If you could stalk one person without being arrested, who would it be?
A: Definitely Brandon Boyd from Incubus; he is just the epitome of a man.
Q: If you could live out your dream, what would it be? What would you be doing?
A: I would be the director of some sort of community arts center and provide outreach programs for kids all over the nation to get them involved in theater. I think that’s what my dream is currently.
Q: How do you feel about kettle corn?
A: Who doesn’t love kettle corn? That’s like, fabulous. I love kettle corn. That’s how I feel about it.
