Augustfest began this week, giving students around campus the chance to branch out and met new students.
The fest, which runs until the beginning of Sept., will feature several different activities including ice cream socials, sorority recruitment and games on the lawn.
Senior Emily Howe said Augustfest was one of the best parts of her freshmen transitional process.
“I was a little nervous about coming to college and didn’t know if I was going to meet anyone, aside from friends I already knew,” Howe said.
“Going to all the activities they offered at the beginning of the year really let me see what Fort Hays had to offer, and I met some great people. The connections lasted for a long time as well.”
