Members of fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon could be seen in front of the Memorial Union yesterday, braving the cold to stand outside and open doors for anyone coming through. This semester, occurrence is a part of the fraternity’s Chivalry Days, a chance for Fort Hays State University to see what it means to be a true gentleman.

Stand and speak up for yourself
I went home for Spring Break, as most students do. And to much of my surprise, or not, my ex high school had taken a turn for the worse. The principal had gone crazy with his power.
I always thought he was a little power-hungry, but I didn’t realize it could get as bad as it appears to be now. He’s running the school like a dictatorship, and [...]
Commitment and patience essential
With election season quickly approaching, I feel there are a few things we need to keep in mind: commitment and patience.
I am not advocating for a certain political party or a certain candidate. I am advocating for the sensibility of Americans, something we seem to have lost.
In this time of instant gratification, we are disappointed when th [...]
Anonymity leads to dip in etiquette
In the past few months, I have undertaken a weekly task of writing articles for the University Leader, which I have immensely enjoyed. As an aspiring writer and soon-to-be graduate with an English degree in hand, nothing makes me happier than putting pen to paper and using the greatest distinctly human quality – language – to put my own belie [...]

Last Wednesday, the Kansas House of Representatives approved a bill that, in essence, allows employers to discriminate against homosexuals. Gay people can be fired, denied a job or even kicked out of their [...]
‘Kid Icarus’ shines as best of 3DS
Although the 3DS has been out for a year now, it has few high-quality games to boast, aside from remakes of Nintendo 64 games like “Star Fox” and rehashed sequels like “Madden.” Finally, the 3DS has a game to call its flagship release in “Kid Icarus Uprising.”
“Kid Icarus” is one of the most unlikely games to receive a sequel, especially 25 y [...]

Fans of the series rejoiced, as they would finally get to see their favorite char [...]
‘I Am Alive’ excels in survival game ...
Post-apocalyptic survival has been a popular genre in movies for a long time, but until now, very few companies have tried to make the successful jump to videogames. The “Fallout” series and its inspirational predecessor “Wasteland” managed to capture the spirit of surviving after a catastrophic event, but both games involved surviving in a s [...]
